Art Competition 2019

What is it about?

In the year of incorporation, Morgan&Co ran an artwork competition as part of its CSR initiative which gave an opportunity of exposure to young upcoming artists through their paintings. Due to the lack of support for many artists across the country Morgan & Co resolved to make the competition an annual event with variations year on year. Morgan& Co intends to promote young and upcoming artists by giving them the opportunity to expose their work through exhibiting in professional spaces, to network and forge relationships with established artists and encourage the artists to take their art more seriously and contribute to sustainable livelihoods through art cement their talent. The winners will also benefit financially as their work may be purchased by Morgan & Co and any other willing buyers.

This year

We partnered with National Gallery to run this year’s competition under the theme “smiling through adversity’’. The theme endeavoured to encapsulate the feelings of Zimbabweans in the current economic climate which has posed an array of hardships especially for the youth. The purpose of the theme is to bring out the glimmer of hope represented by the various growth opportunities and learning curves brought out by the environment. The Exhibition which opened on the 21st of November will be running until the 5th of December at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe.
